They say hindsight is twenty-twenty; I say that’s an easy
justification for plowing forward with no regard to the consequences. Truth be told, we know going in what we are
doing but just don’t want to see what is right in front of us. The moment a bad decision is made, an
irreversible action taken, a half-baked idea is followed – the warning signs
are there, the red flags are present.
But we plow ahead and feel the need to follow the insanity to its
inevitable and often catastrophic conclusion.
What is it that makes us go eyes open, full steam ahead into the path of
certain doom?
The universe sends us many signs and often warns us before
action. What we choose to do with that warning is the conundrum. The logic-self
says taking the seemingly appropriate steps simply has to affect a positive
outcome. The emotional-self says if it feels this good how possibly can the
catastrophe happen. But the intuitive-self
truly knows better. And while it can
argue the action and feel the momentary bliss, instinctively it senses the
truth and quite simply just knows. Our
challenge then is not to rely on hindsight, but to instead listen to all three voices within and decide on the acceptable collateral damage.
Little did Iknow that the woman I met packaged neatly in fashionable attire is also a wonderful writer. As a writer myself, I am appreciative of the power of word magic. I look forward to reading more. Maybe we should collaborate on a book?
