How soon is too soon to fall in love? I've been thinking about this question a lot lately. I wonder because it is a question that truly begs an answer and most of us, while we think we have it, chances are, do not. So, I ask again - how soon is too soon to fall in love?
Think of all of movies, the books, the poetry you've read. The question is a common thread in all of these. Answers with things like "soul mate" and "magic" are thrown about. Is it really true? Can it really be that mysterious and that unexplainable? What about those stories, where the people just know? "Their eyes met across the crowded room and the earth moved, the angels wept, etc..." Does that really happen in real life? I believe the question bears some thought.
We go through life bumping into things - falling into situations and finding ourselves emotionally challenged by the big question: is this finally IT? Is this that "dare to be great situation" that Lloyd Dobler in Say Anything was looking for? But truly, the question we need to ask ourselves is more, how do you know if you found it? How do you know if it truly is that dare to be great situation? And more importantly - how soon do you know? How soon can you trust it? Can it really be an instant? A moment? A fleeting second that tells you everything? I'm not sure.
But, I think, I'm about to find out...
