Read a Book

Cross the threshold of Barnes & Noble and you are immediately transported to another world. Some would say casually, of course, it is a bookstore and you are among the stacks of books, categorized by topic, shelved by subject matter. Fiction/Literature, Current Affairs, Cooking, Poetry, Self-Improvement – they are all represented and there's a book for everything! But go deeper. The books themselves are escapes. They will take you beyond your wildest dreams to fantastic places with characters you are likely to never meet in real life. Or perhaps you will travel back in time, delve deeper into the mind of a monster, a dictator or a moment in history we’d soon forget. Maybe you'll learn something about a place, a time or about yourself. No matter your passion, there is a book that will expand upon it, teach about it, exemplify it. What are you waiting for?

  1. I love this post. I'm definitely transported into other worlds when I walk into a bookstore or even the book aisle at Target. I start looking at books, and before I know it, two hours have gone by and the store is closing. One of my favorites right now is The Red Leather Diary by Lily Koppel.
