Accountability

Being accountable is the fundamental element to success in both business and society. Accountability is expected in politics, ethics and business. But there is also an accountability in life. We are a social animal that must interact with others. We each have our quirks and our idiosyncrasies. Problems arise not because of these, but in how we react to them. Each of us makes mistakes and some are monumental. It is in the way we hold ourselves accountable to our mistakes that makes us successful or utter failures.

We demand accountability in our politicians, our clergy, our teachers. We demand it in our government. We expect it in our friends and close relationships. Why is it then that we are less demanding, less expecting when it comes to our own families? Accountability. The expectation or assumption of good behavior. Anything less is simply anarchy.
