If The Shoe Fits...

Never underestimate the power of a great pair of shoes.

When perusing a shoe store, you must have patience, perseverance and a keen eye for detail.  Shoes speak to the eventual owner in both subtle and seductive ways. There is a matter of color, height, style, occasion, and overall look. If you are buying for a particular event, the outfit will often determine the shoe.  If however, you are simply in the market for something to add to the closet, something for the mere thrill and beauty of the acquisition, you are open to a million possibilities.  Sexy or practical? Determined or fun? Conservative or flashy?  What is the deciding factor that attracts one to a certain shoe?

For many, shoes are about feeling and individual style.  A perfect pair of peep toe pumps can make or break the outfit, separate one from the wallflowers, illicit fantasy and daydreams.  They are like the icing on that delicious piece of cake, the just-so finishing touch on a painting or the smile from that guy you’ve been admiring from across the room.   Shoes have that power.  They can turn a ho-hum outfit noteworthy and even stand alone as the outfit.  But remember, just like a great relationship, great shoes have to be a good fit.  For no matter how amazing the shoes may look, if they hurt, you’ll only ever wear them once.

  2. I still can't understand the relationship between a woman and her shoes. There seems to be no rational or logical purpose...
